KCT Alumni Guest Lecture is a series of free lectures and talks by featuring speakers, often past KCT alumni, who are excellence in Technology, Engineering, Management and entrepreneurship. You can expect thought-provoking discussions, engaging topics and networking with other KCT alumni over light refreshments. We invite you to join us and experience your alumni community.
Alumni Guest Lectures brings KCT Alumni to the College Campus to discuss recent breakthroughs and discoveries, offering alumni and friends a chance to share ideas and conversation.

    LEED club inaguration For Dept - ENTIRE COLLEGE

    A true entrepreneur is a dreamer and not a doer, as quoted by Mark Twain is reminiscences here. The inauguration of LEED started off with JC highlighting how important entrepreneurship is for the running of the society and expressed his pride with the high number of budding entrepreneurs in KCT. Hariram Yeshwanth (IT, 2003 batch) from Advanced Clothing Concepts, shared his experience of how he started a business after graduation, along with three friends. Aashish (ECE, 2015) from Shanthi plywood, sought inspiration from his dad's business and created an essence of his own. Ashwanth Suresh Babu (Mechanical,2013) from A Toddler Thing, emphasized on perseverance and individuality. The event came to a closure, with the vote of thanks from the principal.

    Talk by Mr.Jahir For Dept - ENTIRE COLLEGE

    Mr.Jahir Hussain of ECE, 2012 - 2016 batch, Lead Engineer of HMICRO addressed the students of 1st year BBA, Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science and he shared the journey of HMICRO, from final year Project to billion dollar company. He shared his experience on developing an idea to a successful business model, moreover he urged the students to enhance their creativity and entrepreneurial skill from 1st year. In addition he revealed the importance of documentation and regulations for startups. He also listed the importance and role of Business administration students in Meditech industry. Mr.Shabeer, the founder of HMICRO, leading start-up in India of Meditech is also our alumni of ECE, 1998-2002 batch.

    Field visit & Interaction session @ Ninjacart For Dept - ENTIRE COLLEGE

    Students of 1st BBA from Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science visited Ninjacart Bangalore, Start-up by Mr.Sharath Babu of Mechatronics 2001-2005 batch, it is India’s largest B2B Fresh Produce Supply Chain Company. They had a table discussion session by Mr.Satheesh of EEE, 2009-2013 batch enlighten the emerging business models and he shared the do and don't for a start-up. Followed he addressed the students on building skills to identify the market need and the strategies to fill the need with innovative business model.

    CSE & ISE department association inauguration For Dept - COMPUTER SCIENCE ENGINEERING

    Mr. Vinod Kumar Manokaran of CSE, 1998 - 2002 batch was invited as chief guest for the installation ceremony of CSE & ISE department association on 19-09-2019. He has 17 years of professional experience serving in IT giants like Infosys and Cognizant, currently employed as a senior project manager. He is also a Certified Scrum Master and Certified SAFE Agilest through exposure to PMP and Kanban Principles. It was eye-opening for the students as he initiated the latest trending technologies.

    Mr.Suresh Augustine (ECE,1989 -1993 batch), Head of Department, Car Multimedia engineering, Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solution Limited, Bangalore was invited as chief guest for the inaugural function of ECE Department Association function. He came forward with his diligent lecture regarding automobiles, efficiency, VUCA, trends in technology and other interesting topics, making aware of the students that there is an enormous amount of demand in that field.

    Block Chain Technologies and Recent trends in IT industries for the pre-final years of Computer Science & Information Technology by our alumnus, Ramaguru Radhakrishnan, Lead Blockchain Engineer in Ensurity Technologies, Hyderabad. He completed his BTech in Information Technology in the year 2011. He has an industrial experience of 5 years with Robert Bosch and Harman international in System Testing in Car Multimedia Domain. He is also Cameron's Best outgoing student of the batch 2007­ - 2011 and the best outgoing student of the IT.

    Coffee Table Talk For Dept - ENTIRE COLLEGE

    “It cost nothing to think bigger than you are, but it costs a fortune to think less of yourself.” Coffee Table Talk by our alumnus Mr. Swathish Bellam Ravi of 2010 batch, Co-Founder and CEO of Solarvibes. He is a mechanical engineer by graduation and a strategic business developer by experience. He pursued Masters in Global production engineering at Technical university of Berlin. In 2017 he became the Co-Founder of Solarvibes, a leading agtech startup in European Union. The discussion was about IoT and AI based precision farming solution to address agricultural problems such as low crop productivity, crop failures and contamination of natural resources like soil and water. Currently, they are working on AgriModule Smart system. It assists farmers with real time soil and crop health diagnostics with AI technology based smart sensor network. This product bridges the gap between the farmers and the methodology to have a good produce, they have been identified as one of top100 most innovative startups of Germany by Forbes.

    Machine vision for Mechatronics For Dept - MECHATRONICS

    Sakthi Kumar Arul Prakash graduated from the 2016 batch, earning his B.E. degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Kumaraguru College of Technology. He was the best outgoing student of Mechatronics Engineering department and the Student of the year for his batch. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, specializing in Human Computer Interaction at the Pennsylvania State University, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. He currently works as a research assistant at the Design Analysis Technology Advancement (D.A.T.A.) Laboratory and is in his final year of study. His research interests are computer vision and machine learning applied to medicine/health care. He is a sportsman and headed KCT’s track & field (athletic) team. Besides running he likes to play tennis, go for cycling and hiking. He gave the guest lecture on Machine vision. He discussed about the various research opportunities in the field of machine vision. He gave the guidance to select proper project area. The students gained knowledge in the field of image processing through this guest lecture

    Mr. Naresh Boopathi is currently working as Quality Control Engineer in Mc Dermott International Inc,Dubai .He discussed about the Issues, challenges and strategies for QE in current industrial and business environment and the Quality-related issues and problems in products and processes. He provided an introduction to Quality engineering practices, tools and standards. After the technical session,he discussed with the students about “ self realization” and motivated the students to start work towards their goal.

    Session on Global technology standards by Mr.S.Swaminathan 1992 batch of CSE. He works for GS1 India which has been set up by Ministry of Commerce and Industry dedicated to the design and implementation of global standards and solutions to improve the efficiency and visibility of supply and demand chains. He shared inputs about the Bar codes, Standards framing & problem solving to the students. Principal of KCT has deep discussion on how GS1 India and KCT can work together on solving the real time problems with the technology.
